Scope and Contents
Writer begins by emphasizing the influence of the Slovak brethren in spreading the Good News at home and abroad.
In 1902, Jacob Luchansky, a Roman Catholic, was converted in the church at Mount Pleasant, PA. In 1903, he began a work among the Slovak people.
Church erected in 1905. Because of false doctrine being preached, several people left and began to attend other churches. Tent meeting held by J. Grant Anderson and H. M. Riggle was instrumental in in laying a good foundation for the Slovak church in Sharon, PA.
Samuel Fabry used his carpentry skills to erect several churches in PA. and in Akron, OH. His son, Michael, became a minister and delivered his first sermon in English.
Akron, OH became headquarters for the Slovak ministry in America where publishing was done
First song book without music. Rev. Fabry, translator and editor of hymnbook.
Songs of Zion published in 1929 with other song books to follow.
Slovak hymnals sold in Czechoslovakia (which is now the Czech Republic and Slovakia), Poland, Jugoslavia, Africa, Argentina, Australia, and Germany.
Printing of the Slovak periodical.
Michael Fabry passed away in 1935 with his father becoming the editor.
Samuel died in 1944 at age 79.
Present editor is Paul Yanik at time of letter.
Slovak camp ground in Hubbard, OH.
