Sunday school and preaching was held n the home of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Dean. C. E. Brown was a "boy preacher," and letter concludes with a story of a couple coming from the Dunkard faith.

Letter contents include a brief history of the church in Barryton. The earliest date is recorded as 1892 when a prayer meeting among other serives began to be held. In 1896, there were was a three week revival and the first regular sessions held in the Covert Schoolhouse. In 1897, there were tent meetings.
