1st edition, full tan cloth, with illustrated dust jacket. A pre-publication copy, specially signed "Robert Frost" on the FEP in fountain pen ink. Additionally with the original owner's signature ("George C. Thorpe") and date ("March 30 - 1943") in fountain pen ink to the half title page. The actual publication date of this title was April 5, 1943 (Crane A26). "The poems in this volume, selected and integrated by Louis Untermeyer, are a part of Robert Frost's heritage to America. . .John O'Hara Cosgrave's illustrations included full-color endpapers and title page as well as line drawings. . ." (from the jacket notes). Light age tones and minor chipping to complete (not price clipped) jacket, else fine. An unusually nice and early copy of this important collection of Frost's poems.
