Materials Specific Details

First edition. One of only 200 copies, none of which were for sale [Higginson & Williams A4]. INSCRIBED by Graves, "Delphine & W.J. Turner from Nancy Nicholson & Robert Graves." It appears that Nicholson, Graves' wife, has signed her own name; she kept her maiden name while married, then was required, under a logic-defying British law, to change it to Graves in order to obtain a divorce. Tiny chips at spine fold ends and bottom back corner, very slight discoloration along fore edge of front cover, otherwise fine. oused in custom clamshell box. Nice association inscription, as Turner and Graves were co-editors of the short-lived literary magazine, The Owl.
