large 4to., cloth, top edge gilt. (viii), 30, (xvi) pages of plates. The manuscript of Nizami's Poems is known as the finest sixteenth-century Persian manuscript in existence. It was written by a celebrated scribe, Shah Mahmud Nishapurif, which occupied four years, 1539 to 1543. It is reproduced here with 16 beautiful illustrations in color. Wear at head of spine with small tear along back hinge.
