Writer's father was both a lawyer and a civil engineer in the Ceredo - Kenova area of WV. He affirms that he has a vivid memory of the events relating to this letter.

A woman preacher, Birdie Fink, conducted meetings in a community log building. The writer is of the opinion that many people who attended the meeting came out of curiousity since they had never heard a woman preach before. Because of Fink's strong emphasis on sectism, she was not welcomed as a speaker in other churches in the area.

Because regualar offerings were not recieved during the services, the writer's father contributed toward the money that was given by others.

Writer's father arranged a revival tent meeting in a grove at Ceredo in the late summer of 1898 with Birdie Fink as the evangelist. It was during the meeting that the father was converted and baptized by H. M. Riggle.

While attending the Moundsville, WV camp meeting as a member of the law profession, he was introduced to the entire audience. The writer affirms that his father was the first lawyer to be baptized into the Reformation of the CHOG.

The father assisted in getting the Gospel Trumpet incorporated. It does not say whether it was the first or second incorporation.
