The History of the New Martinsville, WV CHOG
Scope and Contents
First message of the CHOG preached in a home in 1895.
Meeting at a school house on Pnoctor Creek.
A member of the group attended the Mounsville, WV Camp Meeting and brought CHOG literature to begin a Sunday school in their home on Pnoctor Creek.
Lost the privilege of meeting at the school house due to "persecution".
Meetings were conducted in various homes until 1928 when a church building was built.
Parsonage was built.
Pastors who served the church.
Church located at McEldowney Ave. sold because it was in a flood district. Purchased the First Baptist Church around 1947.
Churches founded at Hemlock, WV, Minnie, WV, and also at Duffy, OH.
