History of the CHOG in the City of Centralia, Washington
Scope and Contents
Bro. R. Hines, his daughter Sophia, and his son Robert traveled through the city on their way to Albany, Oregon to attend Camp Meeting in 1899.
His daughter Sophia met Sister Strong of Tacoma, Washington in a train depot. In their meeting they arranged for a tent meeting to be held in August of 1899.
Sophia Hines became a missionary in Mexico in October of 1901.
Family friends from the CHOG in Baron Co., Wisconsin moved to Centralia.
Halls were rented for services.
Property was purchased where the present building is located according to the letter.
