The Story of the CHOG, A Copy of the Gospel Trumpet Responsible for Growing Church
Scope and Contents
This letter accompanied the letter "History of the Hermitage CHOG."
Copy of Gospel Trumpet was being sent to a friend who was a member of the Baptist church who shared it with her pastor. The friend and her pastor made a trip to Amderso, IN to inquire abou the Teachings of the CHOG. While visiting the Gospel Trumpet Co., they invited E. E. Byrum to visit Hermitage to preach in their church, New Hope Baptist Chruch during the summer 1914. Many members of the Baptist church left to become members of a newly formed CHOG group.
Property deeded to the trustees of the CHOG on Dec. 11, 1914 on which a church building was erected.
Property given to pastor to build a house.
At the time of this letter, a new auditorium was being erected in front of the old church.
