Scope and Contents
G. T. Neal was asked by Minnie to write a history of the CHOG work in Portland.
J. L. Greeen and James Bamford conducted meetings in Portland before 1903.
Writer reminded Mrs. Jarrett that he had come to the area in 1903 when the group was meeting in a rented hall.
Property donated to the church by Mr. and Mrs. Albert Epperly on which a church was to be erected.
First church building sold for $18,000.00. Money used to build two buildings - one for a church and one for a place of training gospel workers.
Church for the training of gospel workers was sold shortly after 1913.
Writer served for ten years as pastor in Portland, leaving in 1913.
Writer sent pictures to Mrs. Jarrett as requested by Minnie.
