History of the Skidmore CHOG in Portland, Oregon
Scope and Contents
Bro. Fred Boos (1876-1946) felt called to Portland to assist German speaking people in 1923.
Boos was encouraged by H. A. Schlatter, pastor of the English speaking congregation.
German group held meetings on Sunday afternoons and evenings, when the church was not in use.
Different locations of early meetings and services mentioned.
Property, on which a building was located, was given to the German speaking group. The building was renovated and used as a church in 1926.

Parsonage purchased in 1927.
Different parsonage purchased in 1948.
Excavation for new church happened in March of 1949.
Church renamed Skidmore CHOG in 1949, was originally named German CHOG.
