A Brief History of the Beginning of the CHOG at Blackwell, OK
Scope and Contents
Three days meeting held in March 1919.
At the time of the meeting in March there were no congregations of the CHOG in North Central, Ok.
Writer moved to Blackwell and conducted regular services.
Services held in a hall on Main St. and in a school house near Gibbon, OK.
A church building was purchased in Nov. 1920.
Writer, Elbert Brown moved family to Ponca, OK on June 1, 1925 and conducted revival in a tabernacle.
Preaching in the home and in a room at City Hall.
Community Sunday school in school house.
Local business men interested and contributed money toward a church building being constucted. The basement was completed and dedicated in May 1928.
