History of the CHOG in North Carolina, July 5, 1949
Scope and Contents
in 1898, a man by the name of (Unidentified) Pruitt scattered some Gospel Trumpets in Burke Co. N. C.
First message of Church of God Reformation preached in the Shoups Ford Neighborhood.
First state camp meeting of the CHOG in NC conducted on a farm owned by P. A. Chapman.
Later on the state camp meeting was moved to Drexel.
A brother, J. F. Lundy conducted revival meetings in tent at Henry Lincoln Co. in 1903.
In 1909, J. F. Lundy behan preaching in Hickory Sunday school and Sunday service began in 1911. First Church building at Hickory was considered the state Headquarters of the CHOG in N.C.
