Scope and Contents
Letter contains the history of Church of God in Pontiac, printed in Pontiac Press written by Lula Ogden (author of letter) including the heading that was in the paper ("First CHOG began at Revival Service in 1924"). The story, with Rev. Paul J. Shrock, issuing a 'Statement of Creed,' stating the Church of God's beliefs were non-denominational, no formal membership, unity of all true Christians, and the Word of God as only rule of faith and practice. The revival service itself is then described in the letter, with Rev. Clyde Thompson as speaker in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Brown and stating the church had worshipped for 15 years in the church's location of Shirely Ave. and Willard St.
