There is a cover letter included. The church was started in homes with prayer meetings. It details the visiting ministers and the history of the buildings. In 1945, the building was damaged by a fire pretty badly and a new building was soon erected.

Scope and Contents Letter sstates that the Gospel Trumpet gathered religious literature in De Sota from 1986-1898. D. O. Teasley then came to De Sota to hold a revival service in 1903. The letter mentions the 1905 Anderson Camp Meeting as well as J.R. Stevens and Harvey Reynolds, whom those attending the camp meeting met on the way back to De Sota.
